"My family and friends have toured Israel many times.  Although we never obtained a command of Hebrew, we love to hear the language when we see Israeli films and TV shows.  Jordan Rosenfeld provides our community with opportunities to experience Israeli culture here in North America and give us the essential context for really appreciating what we are watching."

Yehuda (Jordan) Rosenfeld is an experienced educator and certified Social Studies teacher who has taught students of a wide range of age and ability levels for over two decades.  New opportunities in recent years have expanded his work with adult students and allowed Professor Rosenfeld to focus more intensely on his lifelong interests in topics related to Judaic Studies, Hebrew Language, and Israeli Culture.  As a Professor of Foreign Language at Long Island University, Professor Rosenfeld has taught Elementary and Intermediate Hebrew, and was recruited to lecture for the Hutton House non-credit adult education program.  Enrollment in the first course that he offered at Hutton House in September 2012 exceeded one hundred people, and his offerings have remained popular ever since.

The courses that Professor Rosenfeld has developed for the adult education program at Long Island University are suitable for other audiences that are interested in Israeli Culture and Jewish History.  Please click on the link to the upper right on this page to view descriptions of two different courses that Professor Rosenfeld currently offers.  The content of each course can be tailored to fit the time frame and particular interests of your group.  In addition to regular lectures, Professor Rosenfeld has taken the initiative to organize cross-cultural encounters for his students, such as when he came up with the idea for and implemented the MABAT program to afford students from Long Island University to engage in a dialogue with their Israeli peers.  When working with elementary school aged students, he was involved with unique programming for students who attended religious schools, such as when he a participant in the experiential education program "The Immigrant in Each of Us" organized by the Board of Jewish Education of Greater Washington.
