About Your Tutor:

Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies

"When our children were young and we moved to our first house, we tried out several synagogues but found that we did not mesh well with any of them.  We definitely want our children to have the knowledge that will make them able to function as Jews in the world, and of course that starts with preparing them for bar / bat mitzvah.  Who can provide customized tutoring that will culminate in that milestone ceremony and possibly continue afterwards?"

Yehuda Rosenfeld can provide customized lessons that fit in to your schedule and include the following topics:  Reading fluency, Prayer (chanting and comprehension), Torah study, Jewish Holidays, Ancient and Modern Jewish History, Conversational Hebrew, Modern Israel, and Jewish Values.

Yehuda Rosenfeld has literally spent decades mastering the skills and techniques required to best teach Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies to students from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and ability levels.

Whether the student is first encountering with Biblical Hebrew in preparation for entering Rabbinical School, or is attempting to assimilate an understanding of how the practice of a particular mitzvah will strengthen his or her religious observance, Yehuda Rosenfeld provides the necessary resources and guidance for students to reach their goals.  Yehuda Rosenfeld has taught for-credit Hebrew to adults in the Foreign Language Department of Long Island University and non-credit Conversational Hebrew courses at the Jewish Community Center of the Five Towns.  He has therefore proven himself as a professional who is adept at developing rapport with his students and ascertaining which materials to use to teach Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies to students based on their learning styles and knowledge level.  Over the years, Mr. Rosenfeld has developed his own curricula for topics as varied as the Geography of Israel and Spiritual Responses to the Holocaust, and had the privilege of coaching the winning team of sixth grade students in a regional Torah Study competition known as the Hidon HaTorah.

Mr. Rosenfeld's own education included studying in yeshivah at a young age, where he always excelled in his Hebrew studies.  As a young adult, he spent two years in Israel with the goal of raising the level of his Jewish knowledge to be on par with the fine secular education that he received as an undergraduate student at University of Pennsylvania and graduate student at George Washington University.  In addition to the extended periods that Mr. Rosenfeld spent living and studying in Israel, he also attended the intensive Birthright-style program known as Jerusalem Fellowships where travel throughout Israel and religious studies were interspersed with high-profile meetings with political and religious leaders.  He is therefore informed by a wide range of perspectives when teaching and tutoring students in Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies.
